WORKSHOP
Cyanotype Photogram Workshops by Deep Blue Cyanotype | July 5th, 2026
1) Intro to Cyanotype - 10:00 to 12:00 - All ages:
In this workshop, you will learn that, aside from being magical, cyanotype is an easy photographic printing process that leaves gorgeous blue impressions on watercolour paper. We will be using, cyanotype solution (which is sensitive to UV light), paper, water, leaves, flowers, glass objects, transparencies, and sunshine to make a collection of stunning prints. If the weather doesn't cooperate, No Problem! I've got lights! Get ready to play in this all ages workshop.
2) Illuminated Cyanotypes - 1:00 to 4:00 - Adults:
Please join me for the unconventional creative endeavor of cyanotype photograms. Using leaves, flowers, glass, and other objects on top of a light sensitive solution, you will compose ethereal botanical impressions on vellum. Then, you will add a luxury layer of embellishment with gold leaf details. You will leave with several prints and one or two embellished works ready to be framed. It's pure alchemy.

Workshop
Silent Soul Studio invites you into the creative process of Coloured Skin, a Deaf-led film currently in development.
About Coloured Skin
Coloured Skin follows Scout, a bipolar chameleon navigating a rigid grayscale world where conformity reigns.
As a racialized Deaf person, Scout constantly shifts between identities while hiding emotions and adapting to expectations just to survive. But suppressing joy, grief, and anger comes at a cost. The pressure builds until even the smallest moment threatens to break everything open.
Blending mask performance, physical theatre, and visual storytelling, Coloured Skin explores what happens when identity refuses to stay contained.
Open Installation Viewing (12-5):
Drop in throughout the day to explore the evolving world of Coloured Skin.
Masks, sketches, and visual fragments from the film’s development will be on display, offering a glimpse into the creative process behind the project.
Private Showing & Conversation (7-9:30):
The evening gathering will feature a private showing of selected work-in-progress footage from Coloured Skin, followed by an informal conversation with the artists. This is also an opportunity to learn more about Silent Soul Studio, a Deaf-led creative initiative focused on building meaningful collaborations between Deaf artists and experienced industry professionals.
Earlier this month, Deaf artists participated in a Bouffon and physical theatre workshops in collaboration with Green Fools Society Theatre, exploring new performance tools that helped shape the development of Coloured Skin.
The March 28 gathering offers a first look at how this model can grow and how collaborations like this can create new opportunities for Deaf artists within the broader arts community.
