Multi-instrumentalist, Lisa Jacobs, declares the bass guitar her most beloved.
Playing her first blues festival at age 12, she has gone on to write, record, music direct, perform and tour with a of variety artists, including Jocelyn Alice, Jann Arden, Johnny Reid, Jill Barber, Kyle McKearney, Celeigh Cardinal, Classic Albums Live and Hailey Benedict. She has songs featured on tv shows and co-wrote a song that went gold in Canada in 2018.
Lisa has a degree in music therapy (with a minor in jazz performance on electric bass). As a therapist, she’s had the opportunity to create music with people of varied abilities in many different settings including schools, hospitals and even a maximum security prison.
She was awarded “Bassist of the Year” at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) and “Musician of the Year” forCountry Music Alberta (CMAB) in 2024.
She currently sits on the board for the Western Canadian Music Alliance and is a former board member of the Music Therapy Association of Alberta. Lisa enjoys giving clinics and public speaking, has spent a lot of time touring and travelling the world but loves living in Calgary.
