She/her
Kristi Woo is an independent Canadian designer and the founder of Riyoko, a consciously crafted travel clothing brand for women that blends comfort, function, and understated chic.
Established in 2009, Riyoko garments have been locally produced from concept to completion by Kristi and her skilled sewing team, and have been sold globally.
In addition to the clothing line, Kristi founded Riyoko Work/Shop — a local designer studio and creative workspace centered around self-sustainability and slow fashion. Formerly located at cSPACE, Riyoko Work/Shop relocated to NVRLND in Spring 2026. The studio is built on the principles of ethical production, community connection, and hands-on skill sharing, offering workshops and events that bring people together through making.
She is currently developing new work exploring her cultural connections through pattern making.
Kristi studied Fibre Arts at ACAD (1995–1997) and earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion from Metro University (formerly Ryerson) in 2001. Her designs and entrepreneurial leadership have been featured in Bicycling Magazine, Momentum Magazine, Where Magazine, and Martha Stewart Living.
She is a past board member of Fashion Revolution YYC (2018–2025) and served as Regional Coordinator for the Calgary area for Fashion Revolution Canada (2022–2024).
