Hi, I’m Riley. I have spent well over half of my life on a visual adventure. Looking through viewfinders of varying quality, I dabble professionally in both film and digital photography. I am currently a contributing artist to Canada-based Stocksy United and am a former Fujifilm X-Photographer.
In August 2017, I was gifted a tintype portrait session by my wife at the Penumbra Foundation in NYC. I had heard of wet plate collodion before but witnessing the magical process was a catalyst for my obsession with the 1850’s era photographic technique. Since 2017, I have been meticulously acquiring the skill and accoutrements of the craft.
Now, in my little studio in nvrlnd., I am part artist, part chemist making unique heirloom portraits using time, light and silver.
On being a part of nvrlnd.
The moment I discovered nvrlnd. I knew that being a part of that community with my own creative space would be the perfect fit. Since moving in I have felt a strong community connection not only to the fellow artists, but also to the amazing communities of Ramsay and Inglewood. They have always been a favourite destination for my wife & I, and now I am a part of it all.
